Mark Power- 26 different endings

In Mark Powers’ series ’26 different endings’ he photographs what is no longer classed as london, ‘the unfortunate places that fall just off the edge’- Mark Power, he recognised that the A-Z London street atlas is the most popular map and wanted to express and show the places that didn’t quite make it. These images may not be the strongest of photographs and without context they meat seem random and boring, however they have a very strong thematic link and when you are aware of this it becomes a very strong set of images.

This series links well to my project for ‘encountering cultures’ as I am planning to look at the edges of parks, and the country side why is that edge? Is it easy to distinguish and find? I think it will be interesting to compare what I find to this series.
